3D Modelling - Time Machine Low Poly

This is the low poly skull of my time machine, even though I was worried about the shape and thinking that the idea maybe be a little too hard for me to do, it turned out really well with little to no mistakes through the low poly process so I'm really pleased! The only single problem that did occur was that there was one Ngon in the mesh where I just used Maya's 'cleanup' tool to find and rectify the poly (just used the Multicut tool on the Ngon to split it into triangles, I've forgot to mention Ive been using this tool on all my 3D projects so far not just this one).
I started out with a sphere and started dragging out and stretching the sphere to get the shape of the skull, from the I just cut the hole in the bottom of the skull and added a lot of edges on the front with the multicut tool to draw the face and stretch it out a bit. It wasn't a huge problem but modelling this inside was hard because I started with the exterior of the skull first and then moved onto the interior meaning I had to keep zooming in really close to what I was working on so the exterior wasn't in the way. Im pretty sure theres a tool where you can select faces and objects and make them invisible but I couldn't find it myself nor find a website telling me where it is. For future reference, I think it would be better to either model the inside first or model the inside as a separate object then drag it into the skull and join it up from there.
