3D Modelling - My New Damaged Pillar design
This is my new pillar design, I wanted to try and so something a little different to the previous design and make a more high tech idea, I also wanted to show that it was more than a pillar by giving it these pipes to make it look like it had another purpose as well as being a pillar. For ideas googled 'high tech pillar' and 'sci-fi pillar' which was essentially my mood board whilst I modelled this.
I had no troubles as such, modelling the base mesh went smoothly I just had 2 hidden Ngons that I quickly found with the 'cleanup' option in Maya so it very was quick to fix. All in all I'm really happy with the design and it doesn't look too complicated to UV either, now I need to export it to ZBrush to add the high poly detail.
